Once in a while we get to cross paths with someone that changes our perspective. I was fortunate enough to have that experience. I remember the first time I met Jackie, it was January and winter. This time of year tends to be a difficult time for me in terms of energy, motivation and mindset.
I walked into a fitness class she was teaching and met her for the first time that day. During one of our intense exercises that required me to hold a plank for a long period of time, she said a phrase I’ve never heard before, “ Don’t listen to the stories in your head”. I had to stop and think about what that meant, for the first time it dawned on me that I am in complete control of my destiny and my perspective was forever changed.
Over the years Jackie became my personal trainer, mentor, spiritual teacher and friend. When I am going through a difficult time I tend to reach out to her for perspective sometimes over individuals I have known for years. Why? Because she has a way of putting things into words in a simple way that shifts my outlook on the situation. The beauty of her gift is you don’t have to give your full life story or every detail of what may be challenging you at the moment. Instead, her intuition and perspective somehow allows you to make sense of anything in the moment. This mindset coupled with her expert fitness techniques to build strength, endurance and push you to limits you never thought possible is truly the reason why I can say I was in the best shape of my life working with her- physically and mentally. Her philosophies , mindset and fitness approaches are forever engraved in my mind and I am beyond grateful for all I learned from her.
I have been a personal training client of Jackie’s, as well as a student in her yoga classes and I have always found her to be kind, caring, and professional.
As a personal training client I found Jackie to be an excellent trainer. She has the ability to assess her client’s ability and create a program of a challenging nature, but never so challenging that the client was injured. She listens to her clients to find out what is important to them, and creates an individualized program which addresses those goals in productive way. Additionally, she is extremely knowledgeable about nutrition and helps her clients adjust their diet in order to meet their goals. I have worked with many trainers during the last 30 years, and Jackie was certainly one of the most knowledgeable and talented that I have worked with. She cares about the people she trains.
As a yoga instructor Jackie was superb! She was able to easily check on form and assist students to be the best they could be during her classes. Additionally, she is very well versed in the different types of yoga, and helps students to select the type that best suits their needs.
Finally, Jackie is an all around good human being. She has continued to check in on me long after I stopped going to her classes. She is sincere and compassionate with her clients. jAnd it is without reservation that I give her my highest recommendation for any position in the fitness and wellness industry.
I met Jackie Esposito-Newton as my physical trainer. I found her demanding yet gentle. She attended to my body’s personal needs, pushing me to stretch my limits, yet never beyond my limit. I particularly enjoyed practicing yoga with Jackie as well. Jackie is a very spiritual person, which comes through personally all the time, as well as during her training. Her love for nature, her family and her inner spirit come through, at least in the ways that she reveals to her clients. I was thrilled to have her as my trainer and wish her the best in everything she undertakes. I’m sure she will succeed in all she does.
I started training with Jackie 2x/week starting in October of 2022 after being diagnosed with slow growth Cancer.
My Doctor told me I needed to lose weight. To date I have lost 27 lbs and I feel great. However, having my doctor say I’ve reduced my blood sugar and hearing him tell me
“Whatever You’re doing, Keep doing it
– It’s Working.” was music to my ears!
I’d like to lose another 50lbs. I have to say, motivating myself to get started is my best achievement. Training with Jackie is fun. She’s very funny and helps keep me motivated.
If you’re thinking about getting started I suggest you set a goal! It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old. Give yourself time to reach that goal – 6 months or a year. Fitness is a lifestyle not a destination!
“I love working with Jackie. At 52, I was not happy with the way I looked and wanted to change my exercise and eating habits.
Jackie understood my goals and came at them from a variety of ways: exercise, nutrition, and the all-important mental component. lost 13 pounds in two months in a very healthy manner and toned overall. I have never been this committed to an exercise program in my life, but she motivates me to stick with what I’m doing, is extremely supportive of my goals, and gently pushes me to do things I think I can’t. She also makes it fun! Her positive, upbeat attitude is infectious and has kept me coming back every week.”
“4 years ago I began my weight loss journey at 344 Ibs. I’ve struggled to feel good during this ride. several months ago I got Jackie as my trainer. I’m now weighing in at 259 Ibs. I feel great. I love my work outs and yoga classes with her. I’m now on my way to a better, healthier, happier me. Thank you Jackie!”
“I’m glad to say that I started the personal trainer program because I have seen a lot of changes in myself thanks to Jackie. She gives me the drive and positivity to better myself every time. The workouts are some of the most organized and thought-out programs that I have done. Thanks to Jackie, I learned a lot on how to keep the workouts going even after our sessions are over. We also have fun during our sessions and I highly recommend anyone to go with Jackie.”
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jackie, and I’d recommend anyone to her. Whether you’re physically fit and need to tighten up or strengthen some more, are just starting out, or are in rehabilitation, she’s the unicorn you’re searching for.
As someone who’s been into fitness since childhood, I know what’s what. That being said, I’ve worked with many trainers over the years. They were good but always missed something and didn’t really help me get the results I wanted. I didn’t stay with them for long. Not Jackie. She’s knowledgeable in so many areas so that you’re able to get real results.
Jackie focused specifically on helping me achieve my personal goals and made every session challenging (and fun). She also made sure my technique was always correct to avoid any injuries. While also helping me heal my current injuries until I was ready to return to my usual fitness regimen.
My fitness increased noticeably in various areas (I’m also a runner and yoga practitioner), and I saw improvements in just a few weeks. I had more energy throughout the day, too. I looked forward to our sessions.
I only stopped working with her because I moved to another country, otherwise, she’d still be my trainer. I can’t recommend her enough.
I trained with Jackie’s for about 2 years. It was a great experience. Her fitness knowledge is amazing and well qualified!! Always got a great workout and with respect! It’s not often you find someone you automatically click with!! She is an excellent trainor and I highly recommend her services!
Jackie is a knowledgeable, patient personal trainer who listens to your goals to support a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Her passion and genuine authenticity make all her clients feel welcome and supported. Jackie takes the time to understand each client’s strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. Programs or workouts are challenging, yet achievable. Above all, Jackie truly cares about your well-being beyond just the gym.
I started my fitness journey with Jackie in November 2023. Her reputation as the cool, yogi trainer promised balanced workouts that focused on strength and flexibility, which she delivered, but her most valuable offering was something completely unexpected.
Through four months of personal training, Jackie led me on a path that challenged my self-knowledge. She gave me the tools and expertise to safely move my body in new ways, encouragement to breathe and take up space at the GYM, and the mental training to always exercise from a place of gratitude.
Previously, I wasn’t sure where to source my motivation to work out. Wanting to change my appearance felt superficial and inauthentic. Soon after starting sessions with Jackie, I discovered that not only am I grateful for my health, but that exercising genuinely FEELS GOOD. Saying yes to movement ultimately means honoring myself and what I want.
Jackie helped me through mental blockages and self-imposed limitations that formerly held me back from box jumps and balance challenges. We worked through fears by listening and sitting with my emotions, never driving them away. She even invited me into the boxing room, a place I wouldn’t have explored on my own.
By early March, I had gained 3 pounds of muscle and brought my BMI from 21 to 18. After Jackie’s suggestion to check out the InBody scale, I realized that none of the numbers could have told me what I already knew about myself—which is that I felt strong and I felt confident in my own body.
When asked to think of someone who helped “ bring me to the mat,”—it’s Jackie. I am so grateful for her calming and steadfast presence in my life. Jackie gave me more than just a before and after—she helped me work with my present moment, and the motivation to keep practicing. I’m honored to have worked with her, and I still consider her a mentor and a confidant.
